Specialist Support

Relationship Counselling

One-to-one BACP accredited counselling to think about the relationships in your life, in person in Seven Kings, Ilford, and online across the UK. This is individual therapy: I work with one person at a time rather than seeing couples together.

What You Might Notice

What people bring to these sessions

Relationship difficulties are rarely only about the other person. Often what surfaces is a pattern that repeats across several relationships, including family ones.

The same argument on a loop

Different trigger, identical shape. Knowing how it will go and still not being able to steer out of it.

Doubting your own account

Coming away from conversations unsure what actually happened. It is worth understanding how to recognise gaslighting, including within families.

Giving far more than you get

Managing everyone else and quietly going without. Over time this stops feeling like a choice.

Dealing with someone difficult

Trying to hold a relationship with a person whose behaviour is hard to predict. Reading on narcissism may offer some language for it.

How Therapy Helps

Working on relationships individually

Working one to one has a particular advantage: the focus stays on what you can influence. We look at your part, your limits and your choices, without needing the other person in the room or on side.

Much of this work involves tracing where the pattern was learned. Family expectations, cultural obligation and early experience all shape what feels normal in a relationship, and the particular pressures in South Asian families come up often in my practice.

If you are mainly concerned about someone else rather than yourself, this guide to supporting a loved one is a useful place to start.

If any relationship you are in feels unsafe, please look at the Crisis Help page, which lists organisations that can help immediately.
